As part of Auto Data Direct’s continual efforts to protect customers’ account data and DPPA protected data, ADD requires each user accessing the website to have their own username and password. There is no additional charge to add users to an account.
As of January 2, 2019 the State of South Carolina began requiring new minimum password standards that apply to all users accessing its ELT portal. The new standard is referred to as a “passphrase” and requires a minimum of 15 characters with the option of including a space. Users who are not accessing South Carolina’s ELT system are required to have a password containing a minimum of 8 characters.
Passwords expire every 90 days to protect businesses against fraud and to maintain account security. Many people are surprised to learn that the same rule applies to the employees at ADD as well! All users with access to the ADD website are subject to the same password security requirements.
While the same exact password cannot be re-used, variations of a similar version are acceptable. Using information from the time of the year the new password is set, your favorite sports teams, adored pets, family members, etc., can make remembering the password easier. Never share account information and passwords – access to the ADD website should be made by approved users through their individual login access.
Here are examples of acceptable passwords (for your security please do not use any of these examples for your own current or future passwords).
